LOCATION: St. Paul, MN
HOURS AVAILABLE: ~6 hours/week
JOB SUMMARY: As a Registered Nurse Consultant, you will have the primary responsibility of providing medical service recommendations to the individuals served, and training staff on medical procedures. Duties also include completing progress notes and/or a summary of findings following each nursing visit, providing consultation on nursing procedures and specific health issues of the individuals served, and being available by phone for emergencies and consultation.
In this position, you will provide medical assessment to 4 women in St. Paul and staff training as needed. Opportunity for additional hours in various homes throughout the metro.
SITE-SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiar with dementia, bowel movement cares, strokes, and seizure disorders
- Comfortable educating others and providing consultation
- Willing to handle calls from staff concerning emergent medical and health care needs
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a licensed Registered Nurse with a current license in the state of Minnesota
- Must be mature, polite, competent, and possess team playing abilities, effective listening skills, and strong overall social and communication skills
- Previous experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
- A multifaceted nursing background, including supervisory experience, is desirable
- Background clearance
- Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, acceptable driving record, and proof of auto insurance required
- Must be 18 years or older
- Able to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbally
