Thomas Allen is Hiring a Support Services Floater!

LOCATION: Metro and surrounding areas

HOURS AVAILABLE: Full-time; Variable hours, 5 days/week. Must be available to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and possibly occasional weekends. Hours are reliably available.

Schedules will be determined a week in advance, but hours may also be offered with shorter notice.

JOB SUMMARY: This float position will work with both our Scattered Sites and Support Services division filling in around the metro area seeing individuals when regular staff are off or the person does not have permanent staffing. You will meet with your supervisor on a regular basis to determine your schedule of 40 hours per week. Some light office duties such as filing may also be requested. Mileage and time between individuals is paid. We are looking for someone who can easily multi-task, go with the flow and has a flexible schedule.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Assist and encourage individuals to realize both long and short-term goals
  • Support and protect the emotional, physical, and personal well-being of the individuals served, recognize the autonomy and values of each person, and ensure the individuals' right to make informed decisions
  • Keep up-to-date on each individual's service plan and demonstrate competency in all required areas of service provision
  • Assist the individuals served with meal preparation
  • Log all day-to-day occurrences
  • Accompany individuals to medical appointments and on activities in the community
  • Medication administration, logging, and/or working with medical equipment
  • Help individuals to maintain their home by assisting with laundry, budgeting, cleaning, and shopping
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20lbs
  • Willing to commit to and implement person-centered supports
  • Must be mature, polite, competent, and possess team playing abilities, effective listening skills and strong overall social and communication skills.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Department of Human Services background clearance
  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of auto insurance required
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Willingness to drive personal vehicle to transport individuals
  • Must be proficient at a High School level in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing English to fully communicate with individuals and staff, to implement specialized medical and/or behavioral protocols and programming within the division, and to document required information
