CO - FIN - Accounts Receivable Specialist

Thomas Allen is Hiring an Accounts Receivable Specialist!

LOCATION: West St. Paul, MN

HOURS AVAILABLE: Full-time, Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm

JOB SUMMARY: The AR specialist will be responsible to ensure prompt payments for all claims submitted to DHS and Counties throughout the state. In this position, you will address any payment issues such as denials and/or partial payments. This is an ideal position for a very detailed, self-motivated, and driven individual. It'll involve a lot of interaction with managers from various departments.

DUTIES INCLUDE:

1. Resolving outstanding payment issues
2. Maintaining accurate aging reports
3. Accurately processing all necessary adjustments
4. Conducting account research and analysis
5. Preparing reports for the department
6. Processing and submitting statements and invoices

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong analytical, investigative, problem solving and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks to ensure the completion of assignments in a timely and productive manner
• Ability to manage and address a large volume of emails
• Ability to maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information
• Proficient skills using software such as Microsoft Office suite (Word, Access, Outlook, Excel) and accounting and billing software
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy
• Cultural competence to work effectively with a wide variety of people
• Knowledge of medical billing and related AR processes preferred

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field
• Minimum of 2 years experience in AR and collection
• Knowledge of DHS MN-ITS remittances
• Must be 18 years of age
• Background clearance
• Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and proof of auto insurance required
• Ability to communicate in English, both written and verbally
