CO - IT - Helpdesk Technician

Thomas Allen is Now Hiring a Helpdesk Technician!

LOCATION:  Office in West St. Paul, MN      

HOURS:  FT, Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm         

JOB SUMMARY:  As an IT Helpdesk Technician, you will be the first line of contact for all technical issues. You will be responsible for one-on-one technical troubleshooting and training of all users. You must be able to do the following:

  • Articulate and communicate with the user community the proper use, security, and maintenance of the company's technical infrastructure
  • Install, configure and support the organization's desktop technology, including computers, telephones, and related equipment
  • Implement Windows 10 organization-wide and migrations of Microsoft Office versions
  • Assist in managing local area network (LAN) connectivity, including network security, Active Directory, email, and other business accounts
  • Monitor network to ensure network availability to all system users and report issues to the network administrator
  • Assist in network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network data communications hardware and software
  • Work with users to train them in proper use and maintenance of computers
  • Troubleshoot software and equipment
  • Maintain telephone system accounts and equipment
  • Escalate when required
  • Work with vendors and consultants as needed
  • Manage sensitive data and comply with data privacy laws, regulations, and best practices for managing such data

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field, or related experience totaling at least 1 year
  • Comp TIA/A+ certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience in a Windows networking environment
  • Windows 7/8/10 and Linux desktop experience a plus
  • Customer service and Social Services experience desired
  • Some development experience desired
  • MS Access experience desired
  • Telecom equipment management experience preferred
  • Varied IT experience
  • Network certifications a plus
  • Background clearance
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, written and verbal
  • Driver's license, reliable vehicle, acceptable driving record, and proof of auto insurance required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
