LOCATION: Office in West St. Paul with some limited travel around the metro area

HOURS AVAILABLE: Full-Time, 40 hours/week requiring some flexibility

JOB SUMMARY: As the Training Specialist, you will be responsible for conducting the following training:

• Standard orientation
• American Red Cross CPR & First Aid certification
• Positive support strategies
• De-escalation and physical intervention techniques
• Other training pertinent to the needs of the organization

You will also be responsible for remaining knowledgeable and communicating information on organization policies and procedures in a professional and effective manner to all learners.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 4-year degree in the human services field AND 5 years of full-time experience in the field
  • OR 2-year degree in the human services field AND 10 years of full-time experience in the field
• Experience includes working with a variety of individuals with ID/DD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, brain injuries, mental health needs, physical disabilities and/or individuals 65 or older
• Familiarity with MN Statute 245D and Positive Support Rule
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential
• Trained as an instructor in American Red Cross for CPR and First Aid preferred
• Knowledge of the College of Direct Support preferred
• Skills with attention to detail, organization, and prioritization preferred
• Department of Human Services background clearance
• Valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, acceptable driving record, and proof of auto insurance required
• Must be 18 years or older
• Ability to effectively communicate in English, both written and verbally
